Kaylin Cecchini – Attorney, Richmond Community Legal Fund

Kaylin is a dedicated and passionate advocate with a strong background in criminal defense and public interest law. She brings a wealth of experience from both the courtroom and policy arenas, having worked extensively with indigent clients and justice-involved youth.

A graduate of the University of Richmond School of Law, Kaylin distinguished herself as a leader, serving as President of the National Lawyers Guild and Co-Chair of the Richmond VBA Symposium. She was also a dedicated editor for the Public Interest Law Review and an active voice in student governance. Her commitment to justice extends beyond academics—she has worked as an Assistant Public Defender, student attorney, and legal extern, representing clients in both misdemeanor and felony matters.

Prior to law school, Kaylin earned her Bachelor of Arts in Political Science and Philosophy from Virginia Commonwealth University, where she graduated cum laude. She further honed her advocacy skills through policy work with the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission, the Legal Aid Justice Center, and the Children’s Defense Clinic. Her experience also includes legislative advocacy, campaign management, and grassroots organizing, making her a well-rounded and effective advocate for her clients.

Jen Taylor – Senior Director of Government Relations, Families USA

Jen Taylor is the Senior Director of Government Relations at Families USA, where she is responsible for developing and implementing federal and state legislative and regulatory strategies, engaging with administration officials and Members of Congress and their staff, and working closely with state and national partners and other key health care stakeholders. Prior to joining Families USA, she served as Director of Federal Affairs at the National Association of Community Health Centers (NACHC). Taylor previously worked on Capitol Hill for six years, first as a Health Policy Fellow in the office of Congresswoman Lois Capps (D-CA), and ultimately as Senior Policy Advisor for Congresswoman Chellie Pingree (D-ME). Taylor received her Master’s in Public Health from the University of California, Los Angeles. She also holds Bachelor’s degrees in Biology and Psychology & Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine.
