Marianne Pitts – Senior Deputy Director, Richmond Department of Planning and Development Review

Marianne Pitts is a Senior Deputy Director with City of Richmond’s Department of Planning and Development Review. She leads the Planning and Policy Division which works across City departments to implement the citywide Master Plan, Richmond 300: A Guide for Growth, through node and corridor plans, city-initiated rezonings, and the comprehensive update to the zoning ordinance, the Code Refresh project. In a previous role at the city, she managed the engagement process for the Richmond 300 plan as one of the deputy project managers. She has worked for the City of Richmond, Chesterfield County, and City of Los Angeles advising on various issues that impact the growth of cities: historic preservation, zoning, land use, public relations, political decision-making, and policy development. Marianne grew up in the Richmond region and has her undergraduate and graduate degrees in Urban Planning from the University of Southern California.
