Meaghan Butler – Senior Director of Food is Medicine, Federation of VA Food Banks
Meaghan is a Registered Dietitian and Senior Director of Food is Medicine at the Federation of Virginia Food Banks, where she transforms how Virginia’s healthcare and food systems work together. With a Master of Public Health from George Washington University, she leads innovative Food is Medicine strategies across all seven Virginia food banks and convenes the Virginia Food is Medicine Coalition—bringing together healthcare and food access advocates to make nutritious food a reimbursed part of healthcare. Driven by the belief that structural barriers, not individual choices, create health disparities, Meaghan works across sectors to ensure food access becomes a cornerstone of community health. When she’s not working on food system policy, you’ll find her exploring nature in Charlottesville, VA, where she lives with her husband and their spunky pug, Frankie.
