I was honored to be elected to serve as Commissioner of the Revenue in 2017, and again in 2019. I’ve dedicated the last six years to building a talented, hard-working team focused on serving taxpayers. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved so far, but there’s still more to do. That’s why I’m running for a third term, and I’m asking for your vote to continue serving my fellow Chesterfield County citizens.
Jenefer Hughes has served the Chesterfield County community, as Commissioner of the Revenue since 2017. During her tenure, she has focused her experience and energy on building a team that works efficiently and provides knowledgeable and courteous service to taxpayers when and where they need help.
The Commissioner of the Revenue is responsible for assessing, validating and certifying $800 million of taxes, representing over 80% of the funds budgeted to pay for public services, like education, public safety, libraries, parks and social services. It’s a complex operation, governed by state and local laws, that requires experience and competence. Jenefer has both. She is a Master Commissioner of the Revenue, with a proven track record of achieving results, enhancing taxpayer support and providing additional services.
